15-year-old statement on suspicion of attempted murder

A 15-year-old third-year junior high school girl in Toda City, Saitama Prefecture, who was arrested red-handed on suspicion of attempted murder in a case where a mother and daughter were stabbed on the street in Maruyama-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, said, "I was going to kill my mother and brother. However, I wanted to try to see if I could really kill (a person)."  The Metropolitan Police Department's Juvenile Crimes Division is investigating whether there are any troubles in her home.


According to investigative sources, the girl lives with her mother and younger brother.  Of her reasons for wanting to kill her own mother, she said, "[Her mother] gets cranky when she's angry, and she felt it was coming through to her and she didn't like it." she explained.  As for her brother, she said she "felt sorry for her mother's body and wanted to kill it with her."


 She said she did not know the two victims of the incident, and that she "wanted to be put to death, so she stabbed them when she happened to find them." .
