Mohammad Kaif furious at the selectors for not being selected in the T20 team of Shikhar Dhawan – what do you want to say, he is not good for this format?

Shikhar Dhawan has made a comeback to the one-day international team but now seems to have been cut from the Test and T20 formats. However, former cricketer Mohammad Kaif is not willing to accept this information.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the Future Tour Program (FTP) from 2023 to 2027 and a total of 777 international matches will be played during this period. 83 matches more than the current FTP. India will play 38 Tests, 42 One Day Internationals and 61 Twenty20 Internationals during this period. The present and future of cricket is visible only in T20. India's jittery opener Shikhar has returned to the ODI side, but his return to Tests and T20Is now looks difficult.

When Mohammad Kaif was asked about this in Times of India Sportscast, he asked Dhawan's critics, what do you mean Shikhar Dhawan is not good for T20 cricket? You can't say it. Kaif said, 'They (coaches, selectors, team management) know (who are multi-format players and who are not), but they are not sure about what decisions they take. If you tell me Shikhar Dhawan can't play T20I, you can't. He has more than 6000 runs in IPL.

Kaif said, you want to tell me that Dhawan is not a good player to play T20I. No, not like that, there are too many players and too many options. It does not mean that selectors and coaches are making the right decisions. As for Shikhar Dhawan, I can say that he will prove to be a good Test batsman and a good T20 player. Then you say, hey Shikhar Dhawan's strike rate, so if you have something in mind, you've got him replaced. Ishan Kishan can play with better strike rate, so you should include him in the team, I think Shikhar Dhawan is a good white ball cricketer.
