U.N. Director-General Antonio Guterres, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held tripartite talks on Thursday in hopes of finding a solution to the Russian-Ukrainian war, but progress appeared to be limited.  (Deutsche Welle Chinese website) The Russian-Ukrainian war is about to end for half a year, and a tripartite meeting to seek a solution to the war was held on Thursday (August 18) in the western city of Lviv, Ukraine. Participants included two degrees U.N. Director-General António Guterres, Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who calls himself a mediator, focused on nuclear power plants and the food crisis .

Zelensky said he had asked Guterres to ensure the safety of the Russian-occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. "The United Nations must ensure that this strategic objective is secured, demilitarized and fully liberated from the Russian military," he said in a statement after meeting with Guterres.

Guterres said he was "gravely concerned" by the situation in and around the plant. "The facility must not be used as part of any military operation. Instead, an agreement is urgently needed to rebuild Zaporozhye as a purely civilian infrastructure and secure the area," he said.

In this regard, Erdogan said: "We are very worried, we do not want to experience another Chernobyl accident." The Chernobyl accident in Ukraine in 1986 was the worst nuclear accident in the world.
