1. Pariah
Pariah dogs are one of the oldest breeds in the world. Their remains have also been found in Mohenjodaro. It is believed that this breed is 4500 years old. They are also called South Asian Dogs. These are the same dogs that you usually see running from the village countryside to the narrow streets of the cities. It is quite easy to raise dogs of this breed.
First of all, these dogs have adapted to the climate here in such a way that the chances of them falling ill are very less. Second, they do not get tired quickly. You do not have to spend much on their food, you eat anything from biscuits to milk, bread, bread. You will not have to spend much in maintenance. 2. Chippiparai

3. Mudhol Hound
This species of dog found in Mudhol of Bagalkot area of Karnataka is considered to be twice as fast as the German Shepherd in terms of hunting and speed. In America it is called Caravan Hound. At the same time, it is popular in many areas of Karnataka by the name of Karwani. It is especially known for its Swami Bhakti. At the time of Karnataka elections, PM Modi had taken the name of this breed, giving an example of loyalty. The fame of Mudhol Hound was at its peak during the British rule. Due to the loyalty, hunting qualities and agility of Mudhol Hound dogs, they were inducted into the Indian Army for the first time in 2017 as indigenous breed dogs.
4. Rajapalayam
This breed of dogs with white thin skin like milk color is named after the town of Rajapalayam in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu. These tall and lean looking dogs are known for hunting and guarding wild boars. While the life of common dogs is 10 to 15 years, the dogs of Rajapalayam breed live more than 20 years. On 9 January 2005, the postage stamp was issued by the Indian Postal Service in honor of 4 indigenous breed dogs. While the stamp of other dogs was priced at Rs 5, that of the Rajapalayam breed was priced at Rs 15. The Rajapalayam breed is known for its bravery, intelligence and agility.
5. Kanni
Kanni in Tamil means pure. This breed has been given the name Kanni for its loyalty and its sincere heart. Dogs of this breed protect their owner and their home under any circumstances. Along with this, people also keep them for hunting wild animals. Kanni and Chippiparai breed dogs look almost the same but the breeds of both are different. In earlier times, Kanni breed was mostly raised by the landlords. These dogs were used to guard their crops and house. The age of Kanni breed dogs ranges from 14 to 16. They are available in the price range from 3000 to 8000.
6. Gaddi Dog (Tibetan Mastiff)
Generally one thing is always said that what is the competition of dogs with lions, but if you are talking about dogs of Gaddi dog aka Bhotia breed then you may get your point wrong. The dogs of this breed found in the Himalayan regions look like lions in a way and they not only look but also clash with snow leopards, leopards or guldars when the time comes. They are found in the Himalayan regions like Himachal, Uttarakhand, Kashmir.
They resemble the Tibetan Mastiff, one of the most expensive breeds in the world, it is also believed that the Gaddi dog breed is a cross breed of the Tibetan Mastiff. However, there is a difference of sky in the price of both. Bhotia dogs are considered to be loyal. They have been reared by the shepherds here. Two dogs of this breed can handle more than 500 sheep and when attacked by a dangerous wild animal, they also fight to save their owner and sheep. The more they eat, the more power is inside them.
7. Kombai
The dog breeds found in Tamil Nadu are known for hunting and home protection. The Kombai breed is also no different from them. Like other dog breeds of Tamil Nadu, Kombai is also named after the city of Kombai. 8. Rampur Greyhound
In the early 20th century, Nawab Ahmed Ali Khan of Rampur created an indigenous breed from the crossbreed of the Afghan Hound and the English Greyhound. Whose name was Rampur Greyhound. It was prepared for the purpose of hunting and it turned out to be expert in this work. Rampur Greyhounds are dogs that obey one master. You will see them sluggish in one place but when the time comes, they show tremendous agility.
9. Jonangi
Jonangi breed dogs are found especially in Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, they are also found in some parts of Karnataka, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Their very short and soft hair makes them different from other dogs. Jonangi is known for guarding farms and houses. They are loyal to only one person or a family and obey their words.

10. Kumaon Mastiff
It is said that from today 300 BC Alexander had brought a dog with him. The same dog breed is now known here as Kumaon Mastiff. In a way, they are the keepers of the mountains. These dogs protect animals from their owner's house to his farm and their cows, goats and sheep. Now their number is very less. It is said that only 150 to 200 dogs of Kumaon Mastiff breed are left in India.
11.Bakharwal
Bakharwal breed dogs are found in northern Pakistan and parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal in India as well as in Afghanistan. They are mainly reared by Bakarwal and Gurjar tribes.
It is said that the dogs of Bakharwal breed have been prepared from the crossbreeding of Tibetan Mastiff and Pariah breed. This breed of dogs is the oldest breed of South Asia, which has been living with the Gurjar species for years. There are also two varieties of Bakharwal breed. One common Bakharwal and the other Ladakhi Bakharwal. Ladakhi Bakharwals have the ability to bark for a long time in one breath.
