Mbappe broke Messi's record

There was a time when Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo would set some new record almost every match.  Sometimes Ronaldo broke Messi's record, and sometimes Messi broke Ronaldo's record.  That time is probably near the end.  Now it's time for Kylian Mbappe and Arling Holland.  Now the record-breaking game is going on between them.

Mbappe set a new record for PSG last night against Juventus in the Champions League.  PSG won the match 2-1.  Mbappe scored 35 goals in 54 matches in Europe's best clubs.  Among them, he scored 29 goals in 45 matches for PSG.  Before that, he scored 6 goals in 9 matches for Monaco.

Mbappe scored his first goal in the Champions League on 21 February 2017, against Manchester City.  He was 18 years and 58 days old that day.  Mbappe was 23 years and 260 days old on the day of his 35th goal in this tournament yesterday.  No one else could score 35 goals in the Champions League at a younger age than him.

Want to know who Mbappe broke the record?  The name is very predictable—Lionel Messi.  Messi, who has scored 125 goals in the Champions League so far, was 23 years and 308 days old on the day of his 35th goal.  The Argentine legend scored his first goal on 2 November 2005, against Panathinaikos.  He was 18 years and 129 days old that day.

Now, we want to know the age of Cristiano Ronaldo who scored 140 goals in this tournament and scored 35 goals at the age of 27 years and 69 days.  In the list of 35 goals in the Champions League at a young age, however, Ronaldo is not the next name afterMbappe and Messi.  71 goals Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez scored 35 goals at the age of 25 years and 82 days, Karim Benzema scored at the age of 26 years and 69 days, and Thomas Muller at the age of 26 years and 185 days.
