According to the report of the Indian media NDTV, Israel will build a 254 km fiber optic line from the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea, which will establish a direct connection between Europe and the Gulf countries. Besides, other Asian countries will also benefit from this line.
State-owned energy company EAPC will build this new fiber optic line along the existing oil pipeline from the Ashkelon port on the Mediterranean coast to the Eliot port on the Red Sea coast, Israel's Finance Ministry said.
The country's Ministry of Finance also said that all telecom companies registered in Israel will be able to take advantage of this cable. This cable will be connected to the submarine cable coming from Europe. It will also be connected to submarine cables destined for Asia and the Middle East.
